Purpose & Parties

This Air Quality Data Sourcing Agreement ("Agreement") sets out the terms on which air quality monitoring companies, device manufacturers, and data providers ("Partners") exchange data with MyAQI.org, operated by the MyAQI Non-Profit Initiative ("MyAQI").

The goal of this Agreement is to build the most comprehensive, hyperlocal, real-time air quality dataset for Pune — and eventually all Indian cities — by pooling data from citizen devices, partner networks, government stations, and environmental sensors into a single open data platform.

Mutual benefit principle: This is not a one-way data contribution. Every Partner who sinks data into MyAQI.org gains access to a richer dataset than they could ever collect independently. MyAQI.org operates as a data cooperative — the more you give, the more you receive.
Section 2

Partner Data Obligations

To participate in the MyAQI.org data network, Partners agree to the following:

Section 3

MyAQI.org Data Rights Granted to Partners

In exchange for fulfilling their data obligations under Section 2, Partners receive the following data access rights:

Note on geographic scope: Data access rights initially cover the Pune metropolitan area. As MyAQI.org expands to other cities, Partner data access rights automatically extend to each new city subject to equivalent data contribution obligations in those cities.
Section 4

Citizen Data & Privacy

Section 5

Prohibited Uses

Section 6

Term, Termination & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is effective from the date of Partner acceptance and continues on a rolling annual basis unless terminated by either party with 90 days written notice. In the event of a material breach, MyAQI.org may suspend a Partner's data access rights immediately and data contribution obligations within 30 days of written notice of the breach. Disputes shall be resolved by mediation in Pune under the rules of the Indian Council of Arbitration before recourse to litigation.

To become a data partner, complete the partner application or write to us at partners@myaqi.org. By submitting a partner application you agree to the terms of this Agreement.
